Frequently Asked Questions | FAQ
How do I book my session?
To reserve your date, I simply need a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable retainer. If your wedding requires travel, I will also need the additional travel fee paid at the time of booking to ensure travel and lodging are secured. Thank you in advance for understanding that I cannot hold any dates without the signed contract, deposit, and (if applicable) any travel fees.
What is the payment schedule?
A non-refundable deposit (50% of the amount) is due at the time of booking and the final payment is due 72 hours before the session/event date. We can also discuss flexible payment schedules that works with your needs.
I don’t live in NYC, are you willing to travel?
WE OUTSIDE!!! I am willing to travel outside of the NYC area within the 50 states. During our consultation we can discuss what part of the US you are having your wedding ceremony, event or portrait session. Please note additional fees will be required to cover the cost of travel and lodging accommodations.
What is the turnaround time of edited images?
It all depends on the service requested and the time of the year.
The current turnaround time for portraits and events are 2-3 weeks; weddings are up to 3 months. If you need your images rushed (only available for portrait and event photography), please send me an email and I'll let you know if this request is possible; an additional fee may apply.
Sneak peeks images are available for weddings 1-2 weeks after the ceremony.
Pardon ... What Are Sneak Peeks
Sneak peeks are about 15-20 images from your wedding session. You know, because you want to show off your new husband or wife to the world!
Are My Images Edited
Unless stated in the package, all final images are color graded, color corrected, cropped and straightened.
Can I request RAW files?
Unfortunately, I do not provide my clients with RAW files from the shoot. The hi-res files that would be delivered to you should more than meet your needs (eg. making large prints, publication, etc.). Thank you in advance for understanding.
What if I need to re-schedule my portrait session?
If you need to reschedule a photography session and it is 72-hours before your session you may reschedule it to later date and/or time. The rescheduled date MUST BE within 14 days of the original date.
You will be allowed to re-schedule your session ONCE; if another re-schedule is necessary then you will need to pay a rescheduling fee. If the session required the use of a studio, you may be required to pay an additional fee.
What if I need to cancel my portrait session?
If you need to cancel your portrait session for any reason, please let us know at least 72-hours prior to your session. Please remember that the deposit is non-refundable and scheduling a new session will require a new deposit. Please consider re-scheduling first before cancelling your session as the deposit will be retained.
What if J.Reid Photography needs to re-schedule?
In the event I need to reschedule a session (dance or portrait), I will contact you at my earliest convenience to work out another date/time that works with our schedules. If we come to an agreement, no additional deposit is necessary. However, if we are unable to agree upon a new date/time that works with our schedules then your deposit will be released to you.
